Say "Land Rover Range Rover Evoque" three times fast and expect to be tired at the end of it. The baby Rover displaced the Mercedes-Benz GLK SUV as the smallest in its class when it went into production in July of this year. Delivery began in October, and if early sales mean anything, Land Rover hit a homerun to dead center field on the first pitch.

Available as a three- or five-door, the Evoque can be configured as front-wheel or four-wheel drive coupled with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. Hill descent control and engine drag torque control make any descent as simple as driving down a flat paved road. The panoramic roof gives a stunning view of the night sky whether traversing a busy city or hiding under the stars.

The interior is plush and offers style only found in a British-made vehicle. From the turn dial gear selector to the perforated leather accents, the Evoque oozes style. The engine labors to get up to speed a little but when it does the ride is comfortable. The Evoque is more than capable of going off road actually wanting to do so will be a lot harder.
